Fall is Coming, and So Is the National Shrimp Fest!

We got a little taste of fall today in the form of slightly cooler temperatures. It was nice—August is normally so brutally hot! I have to say, it put me in quite the mood for fall.

It also got me realizing that fall will be here sooner than I realize, and that it’s time to plan our annual fall getaway to Gulf Shores & Orange Beach. And there’s no doubt in my mind when we’ll be heading down there: during the 42nd Annual National Shrimp Festival.

I love this festival. What’s not to love about a long weekend full of lots and lots of Gulf shrimp (and other delicious foods), live music, and vendors selling arts and crafts and other goodies? I always find some unique item to bring home (maybe a few unique items), and I’ve discovered it’s a good place to do some early Christmas shopping.

I already have my eye on Gulf Shores Plantation’s Shrimp Fest special: low fall rates, plus a third night free at the Gulf Shores resort. Can’t say no to that!

Love the Gulf Coast in the fall!
