We
are dreaming of a white Christmas at our house. It will go something like this:
get up on Christmas morning, eat a nice breakfast while enjoying a gorgeous
view of the Gulf, exchange presents, then head out for a Gulf-side walk on the
beach.
Yes,
our white Christmas dreams are of the white-sand beaches of Gulf Shores &
Orange Beach, and there are two ways we might spend the holiday: in a
Gulf-front condo or in a beach cottage. Our favorite
beach vacation venue—Gulf Shores Plantation—offers both. Either choice would
give us space and all the comforts of home, including a fully furnished kitchen
for our much-anticipated Christmas breakfast.
Even
if we couldn’t spend actual Christmas Day on the Gulf, the entire season
leading up to the big holiday would be worth a trip down. Lots of holiday
events are planned in and around Gulf Shores & Orange Beach—Christmas
concerts, ice skating, visits from Santa, Christmas tree lightings, and my
personal favorite, Magic Christmas in Lights at Bellingrath Gardens.
The
shopping is good, too. I tend to get a little overwhelmed and stress doing my
holiday shopping—which pretty much defeats the purpose, right? But it’s pretty
hard to be stressed when you’re right there on the Gulf Coast.
