Taking the Time to Shop on the Gulf Coast

This has been a busy year for my family, and it’s showing in my wardrobe. I cleaned out my closet the other day, got rid of lots of old stuff that I don’t wear anymore…and realized there wasn’t much left. I need to go shopping.

More importantly, I need to take the time to go shopping—and time is something that’s been hard to come by around here. This is where I truly appreciate our Gulf Shores Plantation vacations. Of course there’s the tranquility of the Gulf-front condo, walks along the beach, reading good books pool-side while the kids swim (and having the option of six outdoor pools to choose from).

But there’s also just being in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach—and having lots of options (and time!) for shopping. I could do some brand name shopping at a place like the Tanger Outlets in Foley. Or I could seek out some of the more unique shops and boutiques, which are great places for finding those more original beach outfits and accessories.

The atmosphere of shopping in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach is also part of the appeal—the setting and scenery of these Gulf Coast shopping locations is very different from the shopping back home!

But best of all, there will be time for shopping—and for spending time together. Because I’m not the only one who’s been lacking in time. This upcoming summer vacation will be our chance to slow down and reconnect with each other, spend real time together as a family.

And, yes, we’ll do some shopping.
