Looking for Something to Do This Summer? Bring the Family to the Gulf

1.      Looking for Something to Do This Summer? Bring the Family to the Gulf
So my kids are pulling the dreaded summertime “I’m bored: What is there to do?” And I’m replying with the equally dreaded “Pick up your room and help me clean the house.”

But I have a very good reason for this response: We need to have the house in ship-shape so we can get ready for our summer vacation in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach!

And then I’ll have an even better response to the boredom query (if it’s even an issue once we’re down there, which I doubt).  What is there to do? Go to the beach. Swim in the Gulf. Swim in one of the seven pools at Gulf Shores Plantation (or swim in all of them!). Play tennis or basketball or horseshoes at Gulf Shores Plantation. And we haven’t even left the Gulf Shores resort yet.

Now let’s venture out into Gulf Shores & Orange Beach and check out some area attractions. My kids have always enjoyed places like Waterville USA, The Track Recreation Center in Gulf Shores, and exploring nature at places like Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge. And this year we’ll try something new: ziplines and water sports at the Gulf Adventure Center in Gulf State Park.

I bet no one’s bored now.

There’s plenty for visiting adults too, including golf, dinner cruises, and fishing excursions. And don’t forget about the upcoming SEC BeachFest in August. In fact, here’s a beach fest video to get you into the spirit of the occasion.
