Well, I now know that we’ll be returning to Gulf Shores & Orange Beach in August—because there is no way my husband and I are missing out on this year’s SEC BeachFest. SEC football is like a religion in our house. So how could we not attend what’s basically a weekend-long party to kick off the SEC season?
Not only is this the perfect chance to meet legendary coaches and players, but there will be several fun events going during the BeachFest. The SEC BeachFest Golf Scramble, for one. My husband is planning to work in some extra golf time this summer so he can try his hand at this golf competition. (And it doesn’t hurt that it gives him an excuse to play a lot of golf.)
Myself, I plan to attempt my first running event—the 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run, though I’m still not sure if I’ll do the 5K or 1-mile run. And we’re both considering the SEC BeachFest Fishing Challenge—a half-day fishing charter that includes free food, drinks, and prizes.
It’s a fun Gulf Coast event, and a good reason to book a stay at Gulf Shores Plantation—those seven pools will be a nice treat after golfing, fishing, and running in the August sun!
