Well we’ve made our Thanksgiving vacation plans, and I’m a little bummed—mainly because it will not be spent on the Gulf this year. Instead we’ll be heading north to spend the holiday with my in-laws, which will be nice. But I can’t help but compare this trip with last year’s Thanksgiving getaway.
Last year, we spent Thanksgiving in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach—and that’s hard to top! The weather was fabulous, mild enough to enjoy our favorite Gulf Coast activities (like nature hikes and golf). And though it was a little on the cool side for outdoor swimming, we still had the indoor pool at Gulf Shores Plantation.
But what really made it fun was how the whole family was able to get together down there, thanks to renting a couple five-bedroom Gulf Shores Plantation condos. It was a blast. And thanks to the fully equipped kitchens in both condo units, we were able to put together a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner.
So while I will enjoy spending time with family again this year (in the frigidness of the North), I’ll also be thinking ahead to next year. Perhaps a Gulf Shores Plantation beach cottage is in order for next year’s holiday—lots of space and a little more privacy, the ideal setting for a family holiday vacation.
