Things to Do on the Gulf in the Winter

Anyone headed to the Gulf this winter? I wish we were! It’s been a brutal winter so far, and it’s only January. I am already thinking about an escape to Gulf Shores & Orange Beach.

If we were there now, I’d be on the beach—maybe not in the Gulf, it is January after all. But I could still enjoy walking the beach, even sitting and watching the waves while reading a good book. Or I’d be enjoying one of the various amenities at Gulf Shores Plantation. Like the tennis courts. I love playing tennis in cooler weather (but not frigid weather). And I’d be on the putting greens, warming up for a round of golf next door at Kiva Dunes. I might even be down at the resorts’ Connections Café, enjoying the beach view and catching up on some work, while the kids entertain themselves in the Adventure Zone Game Room. We are never bored at Gulf Shores Plantation.

But we do like to get out once in a while. And I always enjoy being outside during the winter on the Gulf Coast—simply because you can be outside. So we would probably be enjoying the scenery at Gulf State Park and the Hugh S. Branyon Back Country Trail, or taking in a little history with the fresh air at Fort Morgan.

Cold snap on the Gulf? No problem. There’s always shopping, or simply spending time together in our Gulf Shores Plantation condo. Lots of space, nice view…wish we were there now.
