Cook at Home, or Dine Out on the Gulf—Thanksgiving Holiday Decisions!

I don’t mean to sound like a Grinch here (or whatever the Thanksgiving version of the Grinch would be), but I don’t want to cook this year. I want someone else to do it. Or I want to be somewhere else and do it (hint hint).

Of course I’m hinting that I want to spend Thanksgiving in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach this year. I want to wake up on Thanksgiving Day (and all during Thanksgiving vacation) and enjoy a cup of coffee on the balcony of my Gulf Shores Plantation condo while watching the sun rise over the Gulf. I want to go for a walk on the beach after Thanksgiving dinner and play a couple rounds of fall golf—the best time of year to play on the Gulf Coast. And I want to go Black Friday shopping on the Gulf.

And I may not want to cook—which is an option if we’re in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach on this holiday. Several local restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving Day, and if you’re going to dine out on Turkey Day, may as well do it at the beach!

But I’m also not completely opposed to cooking if we’re down there. Cooking in the full kitchen of a Gulf-front condo with a nice view of the beach is a whole other experience compared to cooking in my needs-to-be-updated kitchen with no beach view. (And yes I’m dropping another hint here—is an updated kitchen too much to ask for a Christmas present?)

One more bonus to booking a vacation at our favorite Gulf Shores resort next month: Gulf Shores Plantation’s Free Nights in Fall dealWe could stay seven nights, get three for free. We’d get an awesome vacation and we would save a chunk of money (hello Black Friday shopping!).

It almost doesn’t make sense not to go.
