Planning on a Fun Night on the Gulf!

Family beach vacation at Gulf Shores Plantation is coming up! We are all so excited. The kids are already talking about which sites they want to visit (they’ve caught wind of the new Gulf Adventure Center in Gulf State Park and are insisting that ziplining be added to our itinerary). And my husband is insisting that we do a date night while we’re there.

I’m all for it—love the music and nightlife scene in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach! We could stick to the basics: dinner and a movie. There are, after all, plenty of dining options in the area.

But we’re on the Gulf, so dinner should be just that—on the Gulf. And several Gulf-front/water-front Gulf Shores restaurants offer not just delicious food, but also live entertainment. Places like LuLu’s at Homeport Marina and The Hangout routinely have live bands performing in the evening. Tacky Jack’s is another option, where you’ll find live bands and very often karaoke nights.

And here’s another Gulf Coast evening event I’ve been wanting to check out: the Tuesday Evening Civil War Tours at Fort Morgan. We’ll have to make that one an additional date night—a family date night. Can’t let the kids miss out on a little educational fun!
