Holiday Shopping on the Gulf is Better Than Black Friday Shopping

Well, I missed out on Black Friday shopping this year—which is both good and bad, I suppose. I’ve gone in years past, and have managed to find some really good deals. But I often wonder if it’s worth the traffic, and the inability to find a parking spot, and the craziness of the other shoppers. That’s a whole lot of stress I can do without.

So not only am I going to make up for missing the big shopping day this weekend while we’re in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach, but I plan to enjoy the relaxed feeling that comes with shopping on the Gulf. I can spend the day shopping at places like the Tanger Outlet Center in Foley (always good deals to be found there), The Wharf, and various other locations, then return to our Gulf Shores Plantation condo to relax on the Gulf-front balcony, by one of the seven pools, or even on the beach (the forecast is calling for temperatures in the low 70s—that’s why I love fall on the Gulf Coast!).

That sounds like a much more appealing shopping experience than the madness of Black Friday. Plus, the variety of shops and the general ambiance of the Gulf Shores shopping locations are completely worth it. Eastern Shore Centre, for example, is always fun to walk around in, with its landscaped streets, music performances, dancing water fountain in the courtyard, and, of course, its variety of shops. SanRoc Cay is another favorite, and a good place to find various unique buys.

And thanks to Gulf Shores Plantation’s third night free deal, I’ll have a little extra to spend on my shopping excursion. It’s going to be a great fall vacation and a merry Christmas!
